Teens Have Influence on Electronic Purchases
06.05.2006
A research study released by the Consumer Electronics Association finds that teens have considerable influence and persuasion on what types of electronics are purchased in the household. The top three planned purchases over the next year by teens are an MP3 player (21%), wireless handset (14%) and a video game console (11%). In addition, teens allocated an average of $667 (per individual) to these types of purchases over the last year. As their purchasing power increases, their knowledge and level of comfort with technology should have a positive impact on sales across all categories of consumer electronics.
