Broadband Continues Its Rise

08.09.2006

As the cost of high-speed Internet continues to drop, U.S. Web users are increasingly adopting broadband at home. This is primarily due to upgrades being made by former dial-up users. As of May, 2006, Nielson reported that 72% of internet households accessed the Internet with broadband. This figure is up from 57% of households reported at the same time last year. Expect this growth to continue as users become increasingly attracted to the Web’s growing choice of multimedia applications that work best at high speed.
